Muni on this:
Do you find yourself constantly analyzing concepts or hypothetical situations, and then always paralyzed from taking any action?
Muni PH‘s first ever out of town event together with EntrepsBuildPH is an example of what might otherwise been a fleeting idea, that actually turned into action. Of course, Muni PH likes to encourage a lot of thinking (hence “muni”), but more than that, we also like to do a lot of moving, and really bringing people together to exchange ideas, possibly collaborate, and definitely get the conversation going – online, through our events, and through the conversations our new friends will share after that.
Our hangout was hosted by the warm, passion-driven and passion-driving people of Fuel.PH, and here’s just a peek at their creativity-inducing cafe.

The night began with introductions – we had Matthew & Hailey Barr, owners of Fuel.PH joining us, Iloilo bloggers, GK volunteers aspiring entrepreneurs, designers, artists, and an architect too! We even managed a surprise family reunion of sorts (yeheees, Muni – connecting people :P).

Muni PH’s Jen Horn shared about conscious consumption, the Muni Pop-Up Shop event, ideas on mindful living, and how you don’t have to wait til you set up a social enterprise to start planting seeds of change. It’s as simple as being more aware of our daily decisions. Quoting from her article You Don’t Have To Be A Go-Getter To Do Great Things (GASP!), Jen shared: “Don’t let your perceived weakness or lack of influence interfere with the actual strength of your personal decisions”.
EntrepsBuildPH’s Noreen Bautista shared her experience as a social entrepreneur for Jacinto & Lirio – the realities and challenges, but ultimately encouraged our HOHOL-mates to soldier on and just do it. The Philippines’ future is looking bright, with Iloilo as one of the progressive cities to look out for. “There has never been a better time to be an entrepreneur. You might miss the wave if you don’t start now”, Noreen told her fellow Ilonggos.

After Jen and Noreen’s shares, it was an open mic for people who wanted to share their own endeavors, and key takeaways for the night. According to one of our ka-HOHOLs, graphic designer Mikeel Arana: “We can’t give ourselves to every worthy cause. It’s good to have this diverse set of people who choose to live mindfully. We get to impact our own circles, and I believe that’s how we truly start to impact our community”.

Again, thank you so much to everyone for coming, and to Fuel.PH for hosting our gathering. We feel really fortunate to have met you all, and we’re certain our paths will cross again in the not too distant future. 🙂
Would you like to organize a Muni PH HOHOL in your own community? Just holler and we’ll see what we can do together! 🙂
