MUNI Meetup BCD on Sustainable Tourism on July 7, 2018

We’re excited to be doing our 2nd MUNI Meetup in Bacolod, and we’re inviting Bacolod friends and community members to join us for the MUNI Meetup on Sustainable Tourism on July 7, 3-6PM at Kuppa’s main branch at the Capitol Shopping Center in Bacolod City, as we talk about different ways we can showcase destinations / operate tours or accommodations in a more responsible way in partnership with Philippine Reef & Rainforest Conservation Foundation Inc.

  1. What does it mean to be a responsible traveler and tour operator?

  2. What can we do to encourage that travel enhances the experience and quality of life of both the travelers and the locals, rather than takes away from our natural and human resources?

Our featured panelists will include leaders and advocates of tourism that is guided by principles of conservation, environmentalism, and benefits to the community, including:

  1. Dave Albao, Executive Director of Philippine Reef & Rainforest Conservation Foundation Inc., managers of Danjugan Island, a conservation area off the coast of Cauayan in Negros Occidental

  2. Tin Mansinares, provincial tourism officer of the province of Negros Occidental, which is taking great strides in promoting ecotourism and farm tourism

  3. Gela Petines, Managing Director of Reef Nomads, a travel company that reconnects people to the ocean through guided skin diving tours;Former Founding President of ISDA

  4. Jen Horn, founder & CEO of MUNI, a company that seeks to create a more mindful, sustainable world through learning & networking events; trip curator and leader for MUNI Travels Negros on July 4-8

We’ll also be featuring a package-free pop-up with a handful of zero waste / eco-friendly products and travel companions curated by MUNI + other products from Hamsa Earth-Conscious Collections! 🙂
