Pedicab is composed of seasoned artists in the field of music and film: Daddy Maps (Diego Mapa of Monsterbot and Cambio, lead vocalist), Sugar Raims (Raimund Marasigan of Sandwich, synth and back-up vocals), Masterbeat (Mike Dizon of Sandwich and Teeth, drums), J. Sonic (Jason Caballa of Twisted Halo and Blast Ople, guitarist and back-up vocals), and Just Toni (RA Rivera, visuals and multimedia). Apart from creating a Their showmanship is undeniable: jampacking bars, indie concerts, and local music festivals. Their playful, fun, and upbeat disco beats permeated rock radio and transformed their gigs into little playgrounds.
After releasing their first EP Tugish Takish last 2008, it has paved way for dance-punks underground movement to penetrate the mainstream music scene. The band has also opened for renowned pop superstar Lady Gaga and Japanese all-female rock trio, Shonen Knife. Expanding more on their horizons, their current album, Kaya Mo Mag-Sando, explores on acoustic guitars, percussions, tribal beats and simulated horns.

Muni: Tell us a bit about Pedicab.
Diego: We are a rock n’ roll band that plays disco punk and beyond.
Muni: Who are your main influences?
Diego: Depeche Mode, Gang of Four, The Cure, Sonic Youth, New Order, LCD Soundsystem, Joy Division, QOTSA, NIN, etc.
Muni: How did you find your passion for music?
Diego: Ever since I discovered the Beatles in grade 3.
Muni: What messages do you want to convey through your music?
Diego: Satanic messages. Joke! anything we like food, commuting, a feeling, girls, a story we like to tell etc.
Muni: What does “cutting the crap” mean to you?
Diego: For me it really means don’t forget to clean up your own trash.
Muni: What made you want to be part of the #CutTheCrap gig?
Diego: It’s a chance for Pedicab to take part in environmental issues.
